About PandaPearls AustraliaHello and thank you for taking the time to visit my website. My name is Amanda Stein and I created my business through a passion for beautiful things, especially my love of combining antique treasures with quality pearl strands.
My love of pearls has been an interesting journey. The influence of my grandmother, Ethel May Wippell and beautiful mother was huge. A girl just wasn't dressed without her pearls on. My days at St Margaret's AGS also opened my eyes and introduced me to a wonderful collection of friends who supported me and gave me the courage to open my first successful shop.
PandaPearls Australia is something I am very proud of. Our beautiful new shop is located in the thriving and eclectic suburb of Nundah Village. Only 10 minutes to Brisbane International Airport, 20 minutes into the CBD and on Sandgate Road, a conduit between the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.
PandaPearls really specialises in the combination of beautiful antique enhancers on classic white, pink, silver and black pearl strands. Or pearls are seen at racedays and with the help of the internet are ordered online from country Queensland and sent to all parts of the world. In particular the UK, Scotland and France. Please email us if we can assist you with your pearl order.
I am often asked how did I get interested in the pearling industry and how do I keep my prices so competitive (our genuine pearl studs start from only $10 in over forty varieties of colour and shape)
Time spent living in Papua New Guinea in the 80's fueled my love of travel and it gave me a glimpse of the opportunities available with the then fledgling pearling industry. I was also interested for knowledge on the Japanese and early Australian perliculture histories. In 1992 I was fortunate to have been accepted as part of the then Goss Government to represent Queensland on a Youth Delegation to China. Youth representatives from Teaching, Journalism, Politics, Sport/Recreation, Retail, Nursing, Tourism, Chambers of Commerce and Small Business were each represented, I was Tourism. China, a continent of imminent opportunities. That opened my eyes to the possibilities of doing business in China and SE Asia. Nearly 20 years later I have travelled extensively and source my pearls from a variety of destinations. I have staff in Manila, the pristine environment of the Southern Philippines is a perfect source of South Sea Pearls. Of course you cannot go past our own pearling industry here in Australia!
